A closer view

Having been obsessed with the leaves and seeds of this tree in Spring I had time to look more closely at some other beauty now that both seeds and leaves are no longer a dominant feature.

Returning today I had time to look at her amazing bark.

Such a lovely feature- slightly rough ,long strips like peelings! I enjoyed the feelings in my fingertips as I explored the bumps and grooves.

I took some paper and pastels to make a bark rubbing and got very excited about making a clay mould for some plastr of paris action !!
