I can't stop! I can't stop looking for them, noticing them, taking pictures of them, wondering if they are our bit, looking for anomalies....
So, a great indicator of direction. Remember there are lots of things that might influence tree growth - such as prevailing weather, other trees, buildings or pathways where the trees are clipped back. Look for the richer profusion and shallow angle of sun loving south facing branches and the steeper angled and sparser, sun-seeking, north facing branches.
