I've started reading Jay Griffiths' Pip Pip - all about time. And this has for me thinking about the relationship between nature and time and how that's changed.
So, how does the year present to you? Do you have planting or harvesting times? A time when you always visit a certain place because of something special there? A place you avoid at a particular time of year? I'm pretty sure there's a time in my year when my jamjar store turns into my jam and chutney store!
So, how do you divide and name the year?
Thanks for this Suzanne. Lovely to read that we are part of your day and part of your work 💚
I am loving your nature connection ideas and activities, thank you. This week I collected some fantastic reed based tinder, have been showing key worker children how to spot tick trees and went litter picking with Patrick at a local nature reserve (we managed to get one of those special hoops for the bin bag, very helpful in windy weather). I have also realised that alongside being aware of and celebrating sun and moon cycles; eating, growing and collecting seasonal food has a deeply significant impact upon the way I view time. Happy marmalade season!
